Colts At Home Vs Sydney Uni
Get to Forshaw this Saturday and support our colts!
"This Saturday is one of the big games of our Colts season when we take on Sydney Uni at Forshaw Rugby Park.
All the tough pre-season training sessions, the 3 nights a week training since late October the 7 games played so far this season all lead into this one game. As said previously there are games in the competition that take on semi-final importance and require a semi-final performance and a semi-final build up and a semi-final atmosphere. We really need the help of our great club supporters who are not heading over to Camperdown to come down to Forshaw and cheer on the Colts teams and have a great days rugby in the sun watching the Southern Colts rip into Uni.
Our 3rds and 2nds need a big performance to get there season back on track. Both are still in the hunt for finals footy at the end of the season but need to find consistency in there game, cut down the errors and more energy in defence. There are 2 quality sides in 3rds and 2nds but not playing as a team. Anyone who has watched 1sts play this season will be excited about what they see Strong and intimidating pack of forwards, creative halves and pace out wide and as a unit play very good rugby.
Last weeks win over Gordon at Chatswood was one of the best wins I have seen. We expected the victory and it was Gordon running 2nd and Souths running 4th so it was not a lucky victory or a fluke but it was a victory based on determination and effort and unrelenting rugby played by a team of players and coaches and support staff who take utmost pride in the jumper they wear and the badge on there chest. Bring on Saturday and with a great crowd support lets see how many free scholarships Souths Colts can get shredded by the end of the day Not just in 1sts colts but 2nds and 3rds and the 4 grade teams." Colts Coordinator, Keith Holmes.
With food and bar facilities open, free entry and fast rugby, make a date this Saturday to get down and see the future of our great club take on the students.
The Rebel Colts are excited to be playing at home this weekend against Sydney Uni. Uni are the benchmark club and are always tough to beat and this weekend will be no exception. Our 3rds are sitting in 9th position and 2nds are running 7th. Both grades desperately need to get a win under their belt. If they can cut down on errors and lift the intensity around the park for both halves, both teams will have a good chance.
These are 3 teams of young men that believe in our club!
Firsts are sitting in 3rd place after beating 2nd place Gordon in a cracking game last Saturday. Uni have lost 3 games in the first 7 rounds and are in 5th spot after going through the 2017 season undefeated. Both teams have suffered their fair share of injuries this year and will be pumped for this game.
This is one game you don’t want to miss.
Our boys always play better with a big home crowd cheering them on so get down to Forshaw from 12.20 on Saturday and get behind our Rebel Colts.
