Game Preview - 2018 Round 11
By Samuel Lindsayvs Parramatta (H) I still haven’t had the opportunity to grow back my nails following the antics at Coogee Oval last weekend, Christian Kagiassis with the winner, from the boot, almost on halfway, after the siren. What a finish. And what a difference that makes to our season, with a sole defeat against Sydney University in our last five matches. This week we look to take on Parramatta Two Blues back at Forshaw. Only one named change for Southern Districts, after suffering a concussion last week Matt Gibbon will sit out this week and is replaced with the timely return of Conor Young to first grade. Outside of first grade Chris Nay and Rohan Saifoloi will both be making their returns to action this weekend. Waratahs duo Jed Holloway and Shambeckler Vui have both been released from duty from the state side and will likely feature in some capacity on Saturday. Whether we see the inclusion of Curtis Rona in a Parramatta jersey remains to be seen. The luxury of naming an relatively unchanged side over the past month has allowed the Rebels to build those key combinations, the benefits of which are certainly being displayed. The Two Blues have had a less than perfect season, aside from the Penrith forfeited result, their only other victory came against Gordon in Round 4. It would be foolish to write them off however, as they displayed in Round 8 against West Harbour they’re a more than capable side and were only just edged out 21-31. The Rebels will don the sky blue of Port Hacking celebrating one of our founding clubs, 30 years on from the grand final winning season in the old second division. Pictured below, Port Hacking Rugby celebrated the 25-18 win over Norths in their last ever game before becoming the Southern Districts Rugby Club we know today. We’ll be hoping to hear plenty of renditions of “Take me home, Port Hacking Road” from the stands as the Hackers get into full swing of the reunion. First grade will be kicking-off at 3pm and the first game of the day, fourth grade will get underway at 10:45am. SDRC TEAM NEWSStarting Line-up1. Conor Young2. Liam Dwyer3. Willie Ma'umalanga4.
