Game Preview - 2018 Round 16

By Samuel Lindsayvs Sydney University (H) Southern Districts will be back on TV for the second time in threes weeks, as this weekends must win clash for the Rebels will be broadcast live on 7TWO. Following last weekends heart-breaking result Southern Districts will now have to offer their best on the paddock over the final three rounds and hope that results go our way elsewhere across Sydney each weekend in order to creep back into the finals fold. It's not impossible and has been done before, most important this is we put our best foot forward and the rest will look after itself. It's a monumental challenge against the competition leaders and while past results haven't been favourable against the Students during the regular season, our results in finals has been. This weekend can be considered a finals clash for Souths. The only big selection news to face Matt Barr this week was the change at hooker. Duncan Chubb returns to the first grade starting lineup following a rib injury to Liam Dwyer against Northern Suburbs last weekend. Shambeckler Vui remains available after Sydney University's Harry Johnson-Holmes and Paddy Ryan travelled to South Africa to face the Lions as part of the NSW Waratahs squad. Apolosi Latunipulu retains his starting place in the centres for his first back to back start of 2018 and the full-back role is set to be shared between former Student Christian Kagiassis and Welsh flyer Will Thomas. Dewet Roos makes a starting return in second grade this weekend after a successful spell from the bench last weekend. Outside of first grade Brendan Tynan-Davey makes his 200th appearance for the club. Starting at lock in Fourth grade I'd be very surprised if the versatile clubman hasn't pulled on every jersey throughout his years at the club. A devoted member of Souths through thick and thin, there isn't much Tyno can't do. From a spell on the side of the scrum to hooker to flanker to a makeshift winger in years gone by. Combine that with his DJ Shirtless/Smuggler alter ego on Fourth Grade Family Hill and ongoing duties in the club boardroom there hasn't been much the club legend hasn't offered over the years. See Brendan cap off this incredible milestone as Fourth Grade gets underway at 10:45am, and First Grade will get under at 3:10pm on 7TWO. SDRC TEAM NEWSStarting Line-up1. Matt Gibbon2. Duncan Chubb3.
