Game Preview 2018 - Round 18

By Samuel Lindsayvs Warringah (h) Southern Districts return home following an emphatic victory over Gordon Last week. This week we face sterner opposistion in the form of Warringah Rats. The Rats haven’t dropped points since a draw with Manly in Round 13. Southern Districts will be looking to cap off a season the right way, a sunny winter afternoon is set to be the backdrop in what looks set to be an incredible day at Forshaw. Away from the First Grade fixture we have Games2U entertaining the kids from 3pm-5pm. Subbies Semi-Final between Burraneer and Engadine under lights at 5pm as well as music from Riley Auglys and Shake n Bake in the clubhouse till late. Be sure to say g’day to The Rugby Round Up boys who will be cruising around the ground all afternoon.. Back to the main fixture, as with last week, the season has prematurely ended for Liam Dwyer and Alex Perez through injury. Duncan Chubb continues his role at hooker. Sama Malolo has linked up with the Colts squad as he did last weekend. The TBC number 3 jersey could be filled by either Willie Ma’umalanga or Shambeckler Vui depending on availability. Aside from this it’s a familiar looking side that has run out over the past few weeks. Denny Godinet is set to run out for his 100th Southern Districts game the weekend alongside Apolosi Latunipulu who will play his 100th first grade game. The centre pairing has been irreplaceable and dynamic over the past few seasons. Their absence is always evident in the side with the pair rekindling their destructive partnership over the past few weeks. Hopefully they will celebrate their milestones by terrorising the Warringah defence tomorrow afternoon.
