Coaches & Managers for 2020

Southern Districts Rugby is seeking quality coaches & managers across all teams for the 2020 season including:

  • 1st Grade - 4th Grade
  • 1st Colts - 3rd Grade
  • U18's (proposed comp in 2020)

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Provide detailed planning for pre-season & competition programs
  • Develop & implement specific training programs
  • Manage & coordinate assistants including managers, coaches, medical staff, strength & conditioning staff etc
  • Build relationships with players & staff to achieve optimal team & individual performance
  • Teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques
  • Motivate individuals & teams
  • Select squads & teams
  • Analyse performance identifying strengths and weaknesses
  • Advising about health and lifestyle issues
  • Undertaking administrative tasks


Typical responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Head Coach to ensure teams are well resourced
  • Work with team staff e.g. coaches, medical staff, strength & conditioning staff, General Manager etc.
  • Liaising with all team members, coaches & officials to ensure the athletes are informed of training, competition, club functions & appropriately dressed
  • Adjudicating any problems that may arise amongst team members, the coach and supporters
  • Acting as liaison officer between the club and the team
  • Ensuring all equipment is organised
  • Ensuring the score card and any other rules/regulations of the competition are carried out
  • Ensuring all welfare and safety requirements for the team are met

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation and/or
  • Level 3 Coaching Accreditation
  • Relevant Coaching experience
  • SmartRugby qualified

About Southern Districts Rugby Club

Southern Districts Rugby Club competes in the New South Wales Rugby Union's Shute Shield competition fielding 4 Mens Grade, 2 Women's Sevens, 3 Colts, U18's teams. Southern Districts is an amalgamation of two proud & successful clubs Port Hacking & St George since 1989.

The club is based at Forshaw Rugby Park, Sylvania Waters in the Sutherland Shire & includes a catchment area comprising the Sutherland Shire, Georges River Council & Bayside Council. Local Village clubs within this catchment area include Burraneer JRUC, Menai RUC, Oatley Rugby, Rockdale RUC & Sylvania JRUC who provide players to represent the Southern Districts Junior Rugby Union from U10 - U16.

The club is a close knit community that engages in a range of on & off-field activities from Sevens & 15 a side rugby union, junior development, education & training, local community fundraising & much more.
