SDRC Head Coach for 2020 Announced
After a thorough review of applications, Southern Districts Rugby Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Louden as Head Coach of the club for the 2020 season.
Todd brings with him a wealth of coaching experience gained from his time in Super Rugby, Japanese Rugby and the Shute Shield.
This role will see Todd working in a part time capacity with coaches, managers, players and management to create a sustainable club wide rugby program from Seniors through to Colts and Women's Sevens. The program will focus on a number of key areas including, but not limited to, coach development, high performance, strength and conditioning, player recruitment, player retention, player welfare and skills development.
Todd's University coaching experiences and the fact he now resides in the Wollongong area, will naturally compliment our University of Wollongong partnership, which is entering its 5th year in 2020 and starting to expand beyond scholarships.
"We see a real need to further professionalise our approach to rugby at all levels in our great club. Todd will lead this shift toward a club wide environment that develops and enhances the skills of our coaches and players. This will include a significant focus on improving the Colts program for 2020 with this renewed program developing our younger players and providing an aspirational pathway for our local juniors. It’s a very exciting time.” says Club President Ken McKay.
Preparations will commence today and coaching announcements will follow in the coming weeks.
Season 2020 will kick off in October with the rejuvenated JEDS (Juniors), REDS (Colts) and SEDS (Grade) high performance training programs in the lead up to the season commencing in 2020.
Please join us in congratulating Todd and we look forward to the 2020 Season and beyond. If you have any questions, please contact the club on 02 9522 5533.
